Chester Cathedral confirms it will host the “magnificent” Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards 2023/24

Heroes behind Cheshire and Warrington’s fantastic visitor economy will be celebrated in stunning surroundings with Chester Cathedral confirming it is to host the “magnificent” Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards 2023/24

And today individuals and businesses were urged to make sure they enter the awards by the September 1 deadline to stand a chance of showcasing their contributions at one of the region’s most prestigious venues.

Split into 16 categories, the awards recognise excellence and outstanding achievement in the region’s visitor economy and give accommodation providers, eateries and much-loved attractions the chance to show why they are a must-visit.

Confirming Chester Cathedral, a Grade 1-listed architectural gem founded over 1,000 years ago and itself a hugely popular visitor attraction, will be hosting the much-anticipated final on March 21, Dean of Chester, the Very Revd Dr Tim Stratford said: “I’m delighted that Chester Cathedral will be hosting the Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards 2023/24.

“These awards are a magnificent initiative that help to place Cheshire firmly on the national and international stage, and it’s wonderful that the Cathedral can help play its part in awarding and celebrating the enormous hard work, effort and innovation that takes place day-to-day in Cheshire’s visitor economy.”

Organised by Marketing Cheshire, the awards highlight just why the region’s tourism sector is among the nation’s finest and visitor economy businesses entering also have the chance to enter the VisitEngland Awards For Excellence and showcase themselves on a national stage.

Nominations close on September 1 and finalists for the ceremony next March will be announced on October 2, 2023.

“The deadline for entries is September 1 so please get your nominations in so we can celebrate the people and businesses that make our region such a must-visit destination.”
